General Windypops Gallente Skullduggery Inc	Posted - 2007.10.29 21:55:00 - [1] Good god, the OP must have hit a nerve for Goons to throw this amount of smack at a thread... I actually feel a tad sorry for them these days. They've lost their 'USP' as being 'noobs' since many have achieved more on fewer skillpoints, and if they still haven't got the skills to fly decent combat ships after this many years then it's down to sheer ineptitude. They've also lost their self-claimed 'brand value' as being the only ones to stand up against BoB since the reality is that now anyone fighting for BoB is fighting for the underdog, and Goons are amongst the least effective combat forces BoB faces. Being 'anti-BoB' is now the mainstream. So 'meh' to that. The only unique elements left of what once made Goons exciting is their ability to offend and their sheer numbers. When every other element of what made them 'special' has been taken away it's hardly surprising that they have to fall back on shock value and mob mentality.

When every other element of what made them 'special' has been taken away it's hardly surprising that they have to fall back on shock value and mob mentality. you said bob is the underdog. i spit a little bit of soda on a kitten playing on my desk as a read that. it was from laughing. that kitten is now quite angry with you. what you don't understand, somehow, is that because bob controls the goonie game, it controls how YOU feel about bob. bob could make goons fight FOR bob, since bob is in control and goons would not have been allowed to build up in 0.0 without bob's permission. do try to keep up, ok, it's not very complex. going on that, we see that shortly after bob announced (the most recent time) that they were going to take over all of 0.0 and then empire -- sov changes came about. which would make it rather hard for bob to complete THAT plan. now, since bob controls the goon game, bob is manipulating all the goons into attacking bob, so that bob can enjoy all the good fights they desire. this also allows bob to see who their TRUE allies and friends are. once it comes to the final showdown, bob will then direct the goons to turn on all these fools who desire to destroy bob; thusly proving once and for all, bob's total and complete control of the goons. damn dude, where HAVE you been the past few years? there is no retreat or underdogs~! Eh? Are you sure it's soda you're drinking? Maybe try re-reading your posts before you click submit - it usually helps when you're trying to make some sort of point. Or was the kitten typing?

The fact is that they blew their Ace card when they all stamped their feet and promised that they would leave en masse if they didn't get the result they wanted when they launched their threadnought against the Eve community. They blackmailed CCP with the threat that they would all leave if they didn't get the result their tantrum demanded. When it was found that their claims were based on lies, they never came good on their promise. So much for their independence of spirit. Sadly, because of their lack of balls, we all have to endure their offensive forum rantings. I guess they care more about internetspaceships and POSwars than they like to admit. Pretty amusing to see them all still here, so long after that promise.

Let me clear this up for you. One of the guys I mentored in pvp asked me last week. "Why did you join GS as you hate them?" I explained to him that I hate GS but I hate BoB more. I even said in corp chat that I hate GS and I think it's the only thing we could all agree on. So why didn't you join one of the decent PVP corps that fight against BoB?

People posted details of a real life death because most in the eve community have the maturity and humanity to recognise that the death any person is a sad, and significant event. When that person has played a part in the community and history that we all share, many will care about what happens to someone they've met through the game. If individuals are pathetic enough to mock that, through their own insecurity and inadequacy, then I think it says much more about those who mock than those who posted the information.
